Is my practice the right fit for you?

What to expect

Therapy is an investment of your valuable time, energy, and money, so it is important for you to gather all the information you need to decide on the best type of treatment and provider to meet your goals. For each referral, I will schedule a 15-minute phone call to get a general sense of your current needs, and answer any questions you may have. If we both decide that I may be a good fit for what you aim to work on, I will book a 90-minute appointment to comprehensively evaluate your current concerns and share some initial treatment recommendations about how we could work together to meet your goals.

Approach

I am strongly committed to supporting those in my care improve their quality of life. My approach is collaborative and person-centered. I create a safe and supportive space for clients to share their experiences, and we work together to address the issues that have brought them to therapy and ultimately connect them to what they value in life. I use approaches grounded in evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  A common theme across these modalities is their focus on developing new ways of responding to difficult thoughts and emotions.

Fees and Payments

My initial evaluation fees are $300 (90-minute appointment), and fees for each individual therapy session (50-minute hour) are $225. This hourly rate is consistent with the average rate in Eastern Ontario from the Ontario Psychological Association.

Payment is due at the end of each appointment, and can be paid by cash, cheque, debit or credit card.

Psychological services are not covered by OHIP. If you have extended healthcare benefits or insurance, they may including coverage that will provide reimbursement for sessions. Fees that are not reimbursed may be claimed as medical expenses on your tax return.

I offer assessment and treatment services to individuals 16+ experiencing a variety of mental health concerns and adjustment difficulties, including mood, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

I have specific expertise in maternal mental health, eating disorders including emotional/binge eating, and genito-pelvic pain conditions.
